Remove from Media Library and send to the Recycle Bin
« on: March 18, 2023, 08:57:37 pm »

Sorry guys for asking this but where exactly do the files go when you right click a music file and choose: Remove from Media Library and send to the Recycle Bin.

Where’s the recycling bin located  on MacOS?

Note: have the latest version of JRiver & MacOS + I did a forum search and found only one entry concerning this but it didn’t make sense.

Any guidance would be appreciated,
Brian

The Trash.
Otherwise when you choose to delete it, it's immediately removed without going to the trash.

Hello Bob, you mean (MacOS) trash or some trash located within JRiver?

The only reason I’m asking is a did a right click “remove from library and send to recycle bin” and the item was removed but nothing moved to recycle bin / trash.

Very strange,
Brian

If your media are not not located on a local drive (e.g. on the machine running MC) then the files cannot be sent to the recycle bin. If the media are located on a network drive then over the network (e.g. via smb) they can only be deleted immediately.

Hello HaWi, I can confirm that MC is running on the same computer as the connected USB drive that has all my music.

If the behaviour of MC after choosing (remove from library and send to recycle bin) is to remove from MC and send the files to MacOS trash then I’m Olay with that.

The MacOS trash bin.
I just tried it again and it works as I indicated. Also, HaWi is correct about the behavior if it's on a share.
