JRemote>M1>playback volume

On my old intel mac I was able to control the playback volume with JRemote regardless of what the mac’s output was set to, either to the internal Mac speakers or most often the Motu M4 audio interface with 2 monitors attached to it.
It used to work great but doesn’t anymore since switching to an M1 Mac and MC31 (from MC28). I can still control the playback volume from JRemote if the M1’s output is set to the internal speakers but not the Motu M4.

Any thoughts anyone?

Switching MC31's volume mode from internal to system and then back to internal made it work 8)
