Hello,

I'm currently staying at a hotel on vacation and have my computer with me where my JRiver library is stored. I'm trying to remotely connect to my media server on my computer which is connected to the hotel's wifi. Does anybody have any experience with this situation or know how I might connect to my server given the scenario I've described?

If your phone is on the same network, you can probably use the Access Key method.  Or you can enter the IP address of the server instead of the Access Key.

The Access Key method didn't work. JRemote is trying to connect to IP addresses but I don't have access to the hotel's router and so I can't port forward 52199.

Yeah, without being able to forward port 52199 (and/or port 52200 if using SSL) I don't think you'll be able to do this, unfortunately. If it were possible to access the hotel's router, that'd be a major security risk so I highly doubt it's doable.

Maybe try setting up OpenVPN on your phone and PC?

For this kind of problems I am now using Tailscale on all my computers, phones and also on Google Chromecast. Tailscale will put your devices on your own private network even behind NAT and 10000 km away. You don't need to open any port on your routers to access your servers. https://tailscale.com/  and it is free for personal use. I have already use it while in a hotel.
