Welcome to Windows Media Personal License Migratio
« on: February 09, 2003, 10:40:30 am »

I'm using MC9 build 109, and upon trying to do an "Analyze Audio" of a Deep Purple track, a web browser window pops up with a Microsoft URL (site is drmlicense.one.microsoft.com, but the full URL is absolutely enormous).  The page says:

Welcome to Windows Media Personal License Migration Service.
You have reached this page because you are attempting to do one of the following with content that was copied from CDs:

Restore the content on a computer or operating system that has been upgraded, or
Use existing content on another one of your computers.

Any idea exactly why I get this?  Obviously it's got something to do with Microsoft DRM.

Some MS files are licensed and there are limits on what you can do with them.

Some servers don't exist anymore to provide licenses.

Also, sometimes people use "personal security" when they encode the file and that means they are tied to the machine on which they were encoded.
