help with displaying images to scale
« on: March 30, 2024, 08:16:50 am »

I would like to make an at-home art gallery using the amazing resources made available by museums such as
https://www.artic.edu/collection

I use a projector. Each painting's actual dimension are given. Is there a way to tell MC the dimensions of my display as projected and then to calculate how to resize the digital image to display it in its actual size? Preferably automatically for each image.

I assume this is possible by setting up some conversion of scale based on my projection scale and inputting the actual dimensions. I am not smart enough to figure this out. Anyone want to help?

So I’m assuming this isn’t possible in any easy way. But image how cool it would be. Input display size. Input actual dimensions of painting. Slideshow of masterpieces of art!

A “fill screen” to scale button would also be nice, so that you could switch between actual size and largest possible display, or in the case of paintings bigger than your screen dimensions, downsize to fit.
