After a fresh installation of JR MC 32 on Linux (Gentooplayer - https://gentooplayers.com/ Version UEFI with xfc4 Desktop) the error message appears.

"There was a problem loading the web browser engine"

What could be the reason?

Your obscure distro doesn't have libwebkit installed or available. It could be cause by a million different things but the best solution is to not use some weird gentoo fork if you are a beginner. There's nothing about that distro's webpage that inspires confidence.

Agreed, when using MC, stick with more widely use distros like Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, etc. Using a "audio focused" distro like that is just asking for issues and unless you know how to troubleshoot and fix issues yourself (as JRiver only officially supports Debian) you're pretty much on your own to solve them, IMO.
