Okay . . . so I've read what little there is on here regarding dealing with moving music between JRiver and iTunes.  Most of it is over 14 years old, and none of it is actually helpful.

I'm resurrecting an old iPod Touch and I'd like to move some of my JRiver music to this iPod, but cannot seem to be able to do it.  For love, nor money.

When I attempt to use the "File->Export to iTunes&iPhone" functionality, I receive an error message telling me that "The iTunes SDK could not be loaded.  This feature requires iTunes to be installed."

The main issue with that message is that it appears when iTunes is not only installed, but it's actually open and running during this whole frustrating and evidently useless process is occurring.

So, any help/guidance/advice that is from a year more recent then 10-17 years ago is GREATLY appreciated!!!  If you can help me solve this conundrum - I'd be eternally grateful!!!  ;D

(And yes, I've indicated that both of these programs/apps should be run as by an administrator)

My memory may be fuzzy, but it may require either a real old version of iTunes to be installed/used or (more likely) it won't work at all with an iPod Touch as it's an iOS device and that technique (as far as I know) only works with the older, pre-iOS/pre-Touch iPods.

Thanks Awesome Donkey!

Hmmmmm . . . well, what makes this error message interesting is that I've also received it when I attempt to import FROM iTunes into JRiver (no iPod involved).  ?

Is it just that iTunes and JRiver don't play well together?

Unless it's an old iPod, pretty much. Once iOS came into the picture that pretty much stopped it from working correctly if memory serves. It basically made Apple's walled gardens' walls too high to get over. =\

I've used a helper program on Windows for years to help me maintain a synced copy of my MC library in iTunes -- MC iTunes Synchronizer. It makes thing more manual than I would like, but has continued working for me to this day (at least MC31, current iTunes, Windows11).

There may be some help from that direction....
