MC With Samsung TV
« on: August 28, 2024, 02:09:26 am »

Hi

I have a Samsung TV , about 2 yrs old, currently the only way I can use my MC library is a clumsy directory type search

Are there any plans for a Samsung compatible app that can be loaded on the TV

I want to avoid using a video streamer hardware solution.

It probably supports DLNA.  Turn on Media Network in MC and try it.  A Google search would tell you more.

It does support DNLA but it’s a pretty ugly interface compared with dedicated apps like Plex and Netflix . I was wondering about JRemote for Samsung sort of thing.

I can use JRemote as is but it’s another interface to teach users

He's not wrong. Samsung's DLNA support is horrible, at best. Crashes MC consistently! I had to resort to using a PC via HDMI in my living room set up. Thinking of getting a mini-PC for the back of my TV on my patio.
