5.1.4 and 7.1.4 Are Perfect!
« on: September 08, 2024, 10:26:32 am »

Just tested the new feature:

"28. Changed: 10 channel is now 5.1.4 and 12 channel is 7.1.4.  JRSS does not currently fill the height channels."

So far it works perfect, where all previous attempts failed. YES!

Just received a 9.1.4 file from the 2L record label. When I play this on my 7.1.4 system, MC says "Convert from 14 channels to 7.1.4 channels." This is fine, but I don't know what it's doing. Technically I know that channels 5 and 6 in the file are supposed to be phantom between the front L and side L and front R and side R respectively for a 7.1.4 system (straight from the recording engineer).

Question: What is MC doing in this conversion?

The idea is that the signal should be down mixed.  I haven't tested such high channel counts much.  If you want to send me a sample (matt at jriver) I can take a closer look.  Thanks.
