Add for me is just to add, not to add and play. It seems to me that it's more user-friendly to make two options: "Add" and "Add and play" (append, add next, etc). The checkbox in settings is not too intuitive. IMHO, of course
What you're asking for already exists. The top half of that sub-menu
is "Add and Play", the menu just calls it "Play" (but the items are added). The problem is the menu's bottom half, where it is supposed to "Add"
only but gets overridden when the
Start playing when files added to PlayingNow box is checked (in
Options/General/Behavior).
The point I was trying to make in my previous post is that the setting shouldn't override the menu, but that the menu should override the setting. No new options are needed - just change the override behavior.
Stated another way: setting
not checked, the menu delivers exactly what you want/expect - the top half adds and plays, the bottom half adds only. When the setting
is checked however, the bottom half of the menu behaves the same as the top half - it both adds
and plays due to the setting overriding the lower menu expected behavior.
