From the Tree on the left I use Drives & Devices frequently to view the contents of folders.
My (album) folders often contain both the flac music files and typically jpg art images of the covers and so on.
When in the tab screen, at the top is Mode: All files; and Show Files in Subfolders, ticked.
It is no good un-ticking Subfolders as when selecting an Artist you wish to see all underlying album folders

Often I wish to see just my music files and not the other jpgs and txt files in the folder (or sub folder)
Because all files are displayed the Tag box on the left shows [Varies] and I have to unselect the non music files, and often miss something.
I wish to have a view displaying just my music flacs.
Tell me how I can exclude the non-music files in this view, please.

You could use the search window to limit the view.  For example, search for:

 *.flac
or
-jpg -txt

Can also type [media type]=audio into the Search Bar.

Once entered, the search term sticks around for a while.  Either single click into the box once to get a popup, or click the small down arrow on the left for a drop down menu with Recent Searches flyout.  Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+f gets you there right away.
