« on: January 30, 2025, 12:12:51 pm »

Hi All ~

Can the latest version of JRiver Media Center convert multichannel MKV files to lossless FLAC?

Thank you kindly for your time ~

Do you mean extracting just the audio and converting it to flac?  I'm not sure that it can do that but look at the conversion settings and try one.

It's probably going to also depend on what it's encoded as in the MKV container. I would imagine if it's PCM audio it may would work to convert to FLAC (though I could be wrong) but things like Atmos, AC3, TrueHD, DTS, etc. may have issues and would need a lossy conversion to PCM.
