Since updating from version 28 to version 32 and then to version 33, all of my files have this repetitive noise in them. The "tick - tick - tick" repeats itself about 16 times during a 10-second interval and remains at a constant, low-level volume. IOW I can't hear it during louder music. I can play any of my over 10,000 files and the tick will be present.

The click is not present when I play the files with Media Player Classic that came with Windows 10, nor when I use Media Center version 32. (However, version 32, even after restoring the library, does not import my playlists or my other settings.)

This is the first time I've had this problem since 2006. How can I eliminate it?

UPDATE:

I found that Tools>Options>Audio>Audio Device was set to "Default Audio Device [Direct Sound]". I reset it to "Realtek High Definition Audio [WASAPI] fixed my problem.
