MC startup time excessive…?
« on: April 17, 2025, 12:57:44 pm »

I’ve noticed the startup time for MC to be extra long, something on the order of a full minute. What i’ve also noticed is that it appears to be associated with waiting for one (of two) of my NAS mapped drives to be recognized by the computer (Win 11). I have no idea why MC might wait for one the mapped drives from one NAS and not the other(?) Neither are associated with the library.

How can I troubleshoot this “apparent” association and remove it?

Please try MC34.  It's on the forum.

I’ll certainly consider it. Can you at least tell me why it’s a problem with MC32 and not MC34?

I don't know, but if there is a problem with MC, we may have fixed it in the newer version.  It's easy to find out.

Except this doesn’t appear to be, or behave a bug with MC, and might even be considered a feature. For example, one of my saved libraries appears to reference files on the NAS, while my main library (in question) does not.

I just thought of that, so I wonder how I’ll troubleshoot it without deleting it, but it raises questions regarding how to optimize the startup. I normally keep data on a internal “data” drive, but I also have considerable room on the system drive, and this is a computer designated for MC and its server…

Thanks again…
