DFX and MC 9

I had cause to return to MusicMatch (dreadful experience) when I had an MC 9 synch problem.

I noticed that I can choose to apply the DFX filters when synching.

Is/will this option be available in MC9?
Is it worthwhile/better than using iPODs own EQ settings?
