Support for Playback Resume?
« on: January 10, 2003, 08:28:10 pm »

Will support be added to resume playback from where a "track" left off?  This is a useful feature for watching videos - and so many of the video-centric media players support it.

You mean if you're 38 seconds into a track and close MC, when you restart MC, it picks up at the 38th second of the track?

That sounds pretty good to me. Start watching an AVI movie. Quit, shut down and resume tomorrow where I left off.

ZoomPlayer too. And my JVC standalone player. And PowerDVD. And...even Winamp has a plug-in called "resumer"!  It would be nice, both for video and audio. 8)

You Know I asked My wife yesterday and she told me it did do this (it has been over a year since i used it, since I don't watch Movies Too Much).

One of my DVD Players is a 301 DVD Jukebox, and I did not ask her to show me if the other one in our bed room did the same thing.

my home dvd player does it. windvd does it. my head unit in my car does it. my dvd player in my car does it too...hmmm, sounds like a great idea!

Also if you use hibernation instead of shutdown, it's supposed to do it. Only happens like 1 out of 5 times for me.

Sounds like an old song.  Birds do it.  Bees do it.....Why shouldn't we do it?

I suppose that's not it at all.

We will look at this after some of our other nightmares are buried and gone.  It could be 9.1 before it happens.  It would definitely be an improvement.

hmm, well while your looking at this, could you guys also look at the ability to play like 'intro/scan' mode for songs as this would be along the same lines of controlling the starting point of songs.
Possibly with the ability to do: Start from X seconds and play for X seconds instead of just 'play the first 10 seconds of each song' as you often get more of an idea which song a file is from the middle of the track than from the beginning intro.
