9.0089 Burning issues
« on: January 02, 2003, 03:10:13 pm »

Hi

Have just reformatted HD and am having a major problem burning from MJ.  Burning progress window appears and goes exactly half way every time, stops, declares CD burning is complete and... I have a worthless piece of round plastic.  I have done nothing new other than format the HD and have re-installed everything twice.  Including an ASPI layer from adaptec.  Does this sound familiar to anyone?  I'm running out of ideas...
The "enable CD recording box" is unchecked through Windows.  Also the resultant CD sometimes is playable, but sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Thanks,
Richard

Are you doing a data or audio mode CD burn? If audio, do data burns work ok?
(you can check "test mode" to avoid using up a CD during this test).

I have had similar problems burning audio CDs with MC 9.0.89 and I have left two post in mid December detailing what was happening.  The post were "No more freezes, but unable to burn with 9.0.89" and "Merry Christmas instead of Blue Christmas.  I have since gone back to MC ver 9.0.88 and I am now able to burn audio CDs.  On some of my attempts with 9.0.89 even though I had test mode selected at the time, the CD were written to, but not playable.  Thank you and looking forward to the next build to correct some of our problems.  Joe Karnes
