Can't Find Chart Grabber Plugin
« on: July 15, 2003, 06:07:59 pm »

King Sparta,

I can't find any versions of your Chart Grabber Plugin.  The link on your home page takes be to the Media Center 9 Plug-in Page, but none of your plug-ins are listed.

P.S.  I've found the Chart Finder Plugin to be great at correcting the date field in MP3s, especially for compilation albums of hits.

Thanks,
Rob

1.0.77

and was displayed on the tab, don't go by what maybe in the plugin manager.

at anyrate, that program has been striped, and i am no longer working on it so if you don't have it then i am not sure if i have the code for it anylonger since I moved all of the items into indiv programs.

what options werew you looking for?

At any rate it seems J river wiped out all the plug-ins not sure why or why they did not state a reason. i do not want to upload anything to the site if they don't want it up there.

maybe Jim or someone will have an answer later.

I had some problems with my PC and I had to remove somethings.

I just liked it that's all. Oh well I'll use your Lyrics finder instead!!

King Sparta,

Your new website looks great, but both the Chart Finder and Chart Grabber full plugins only provide their respective OCX files.

King Sparta,

First off, thank you.  I love all of your plug-ins and have appreciated your rapid responses to my problems.

Second, I'm now having a problem installing the Chart Grabber plug-in.  I receive this error message after starting Media Center:

Interface Plug-in'Chart Grabber' could not be found or created.

Suggestions?

I just Uninstalled it.

then reinstalled it

And it installed and is working fine using MC9.1.213

since you failed to report any error messages i guess you did not get any when you installed?

and if your running something newer than MC9.1.213 then that may or maynot be the problem.

I do know they removed all or most of the plug-ins from there website. JimH has the FBI working on an investigation on this and when he is done i am sure a full written report will be issued. if you have the security clearance you may have access to the report.

King Sparta,

I'm now using MC 9.1.215... so maybe that's the problem.

I've also noticed that Chart Finder now will only identify the songs that are in "Playing Now" when Media Center starts.  If I change the files in Playing Now, they are not reflected in Chart Finder until I exit and re-load Media Center.

yea, thats because J River Changed the way plug-ins work. that plug-in does not work correctly after (around 9.1.205)

I have not had the time to go back to that plug-in and fix it. the others I have fixed, but basicly since the plug-in is always running now, if you change the files in playing now you must close MC9 down and reload mc9 for the program to see a new list. what i need to do is monitor the list and if the list changes i need to refresh the list.

I have been striping it down and some of the optons are now aval as another plug-in.

I will work on it soon, maybe when J river provides an updated SDK.

The Chart Finder feature is my favorite feature of your plug-ins, so I hope you J River provides an updated SDK quickly.  In the mean time, I've found that I can effectively get it to work by using the Start and Stop Plug-in buttons in the Plug-in Manager.

I'm still unable to use the Chart Grabber plug-in, but that may be unique to my system and an inadequate uninstall earlier.  I'm not sure, but will keep looking at other possibilities.

KingSparta,

I'm stilling unable to load the ChartGrabber plug-in.

I am running Windows XP, so that's not the problem.  I have also uninstalled everything related to MC9, including MC9, and then re-installed everything.  I still receive the error message: "Interface Plug-in'Chart Grabber' could not be found or created. "

I'm happy to try any suggestions that you might have, and I'm not afraid to dig around the registry if I need to.  I would really like to get the ChartGrabber plug-in working as it's my favorite KingSparta production.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

sounds like a movie

what link are you downloading from?

what version are you trying to install?

now that my Lyrics quest Phase 1 has completed yesterday and i now have more lyrics than any lyrics site on the internet.

I do plan to go back to this plug-in this weekend due to the fact the last time i ran it it seems on some of the pages it gets info from the date format has changed.

use the full install do not use the ocx only replacement

you can go to add remove programs in windows and remove the plug-in from there, if after that it is still in MC9 un-install it from the MC9 plug-in manager and then try to re-install.

if you wish to go to c:\program files\mark farmer\

and delete the folder for that plug-in (just in case)

I'm downloading using this link: http://www2.spartasoft.com:12345/My%20Programs/Chart%20Grabber.ZIP

According to the file properties of the ocx files, it's version 0.0.0.9.

I've been trying to install the full version.

I've uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs, inside MC9, and by deleting the directory.  I still get the error after re-installing the Chart Grabber plug-in.

Yes, at one time Chart Grabber worked perfectly... if it only hadn't, then I wouldn't miss it so much now.

It stopped working around the time I upgraded to 9.1, but I don't recall exactly when now.

here is the deal

i just tried installing it on my wife's computer (with windows xp) and the latest version of MC9.1

it installed fine.

so the problem is not with the program.

======================================

one thing you can do is.

1. do not have MC9.1 running.
2. go to windows explorer, tools internet options

general "tab"

temp internet files, Push on the "Delete Files" button

then try to reinstall.

this some times will fix a install problem this is a known bug in Windows\IE
