MC and pdas anyone?
« on: October 09, 2003, 10:58:28 pm »

I'm about to get a pda that can play mp3s, images and even movies and I was wondering, since I have noticed that there was an MC pda plug-in available for download, if anyone of you had successfully used MC to transfer music and/or images/movies to a pda. If someone has successfully used a sony nx70v (that's the model I'm getting) to do so and could give me some details, that would be even greater.

edit:

just seen that MC doesn't need a plug-in to interact with a sony clie, but accounts of your experience with this device are still welcomed!

I use the Handheld plugin with an Audivox Maestro PDA and it works flawlessly.  I don't think you will have a problem with any PDA that runs the Pocket PC OS.

Well, all sony clies run palm OS, and the most recent ones (like the NX70V) run palm OS 5. I'm pretty sure it is flawless with PPC devices and I should have made my question more specific: anyone using a Palm OS device?

IOth,

Our PDA plugin does not support Palm OS devices.  If the particular device you mentioned also appears to the PC as a removabledrive, then we should be all set. This is the what works for Clie.

I use a card reader to load songs onto my SD card for my zire 71.

The card shows up as an external drive with a little pda icon in MC.

I load up the songs I want and hit transfer to load them up, it works pretty slick.

MC did not recognize my palm in the cradle, but the transfer through Realone via the cradle was sooooo slllloooooowwwww that MC is a much better alternative (with the card reader).

And now I can uninstall Realone from my machine - YEAH!!!

Not sure what will be the same or diffierent with the sony, but something should work.
