Breaking out albums into tracks
« on: November 21, 2002, 08:18:46 am »

I don't think MJ does this (tho' I've been surprised before) and I've seen some cool stuff posted here on third party programs (like that VERY COOL "remove empty folders" program.)

Does anyone know a program that will break an album length MP3 into tracks based on silences between tracks?

Thanks!

I take it you mean off of vinyl (LP). MJ has all sorts of options for track splitting (try it...look in Settings>Options>Recorder Settings). EAC does too by generating a cue sheet. I prefer the manual way...Record the whole album, use a wave editor (EAC's) and start cutting and saving the "wavelets".

10-27

edit > already encoded? Try MP3 Direct Cut (lossless - doesn't need to convert to wave)

PS: Tim..$50 says that there will a MS Office for Linux within 3 to 4 yrs (that's my def of "a few").

LOL.  I went the xen-uno way and used CoolEdit Pro to hack it into pieces. :)

P.S. Thinking 'bout the length of time and the $50. :)

Help.  I'm just starting out using this product and I'm trying to enable track splitting.  I've gotten to the screen settings->options->recorder but don't see anywhere to select the track splitting option.

IF your using v8 then the setting is in Settings>Optiions>Recorder Settings>Split Tracks. No idea where in v9.

10-27

Tim...
From a grocery store Anchor Porter is ~ $9 a six. That's about as high end as I've seen. Haven't seen any $50/6 beers. What do they taste like? Does the gold or platinum flake in it improve taste? I can't wait to find out.
