Maybe a reinstall of MC?  If you could post your system specs it would help us try to help you.  Thanks!

Have you run the task manager to verify that it really isn't there?
It's named Media Server.exe

If you are comfortable with regedit, then change the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\JRiver\Music01 Server\StartSharingOnLaunch
to be zero, then start it again. It should start and not die. Edit your settings to see if something is strange then.

Good morning
okay, i did the registry change. Server starts without crashing. As soon as i start to Share following is displayed:
12/31/03 08:39:36 - sharer starting
12/31/03 08:39:36 - Initializing server.
12/31/03 08:39:36 - Server initialized
12/31/03 08:39:36 - sharer ready to accept connections
12/31/03 08:39:36 - Started auto response thread on port 5556.

a second after that it crashes. Same problem as before.

Wait ...
just disabled the "AutoDetect" "Do not respond ...." and the server continues to run.
Have to find out now if i can access from "outside" ....
Ill be back 8)

Hi again,
so far it does only crash when the AutoDetect function is unchecked (disabled). Is there a fix ...?
I understood that I have to manually pass the IP-Adress of the M-server to the machines(clients) on the LAN and/or  Internet. Correct ...?

Happy New Year .

Hi Oliver,

I'll check to see why it's crashing. Nobody else has reported this, so it may still be something in your setup.

Auto-detect is only useful when the client and server are on the same network segment. So for the internet you'd need the IP address anyway.
