Ripping problem with 9.1.316

When I rip a cd and eject it, it will not let me start a rip unless I shutdown the application and restart it. It will just say intitializing forever?

Are you using any virtual drive software?

I was running clonecd which has been removed, I have a nomad nx, but it is not connected.
Windows xp
dell pc
128 mb
p4 3.0
