Hello there!

I'm new to this forum, and have just started to use MC. A lot more advanced than the WinAmp I have bean used for several years. But wow... It's a great program! A real state of the art!That's for sure.

But off course I've already run in to some problems. Have tryed to search for some answers on the forum, but with no luck. So I hope some of you can help?

When my daughter tryed to open the MC from her useracount, she got the message: "Sorry, but you don't have enough rights to run the program. Please make sure you have at least Power User rights"

How do I make the right adjustment, so that she also can start playing with the MC? I'm not sure if it's a MC or a XP problem... or?)

I think you need to allocate administrator priviledge via Control Panel> Users.

I never understood this term 'Power User' and have never seen any such priviledge level in XP.  Is it just meant to confuse people or is there such a setting?  The only setting I ever saw was 'user' and 'computer administrator'.

Expand Local Users and Groups
Click on Users
Right click on the user you wish to change
Select Properities
Click the Member of tab
Click Add

Does that exist in XP Home as well as Pro?

Should be the same for XP Home. XP's Pro's method for assigning a user to a particular group is about as dumb (and backwards) as it gets. It makes you find (via Find Now) the group levels (ie administrators/power users/users/etc) rather than just letting you pick from a list (well...XP does eventually...but not without provoking massive irritation ). W2k's method is much clearer and straight forward.

FYI: (JLee) All the group levels that have been there since NT 3.1 are still there in XP...just buried.

Not an option.

Windows XP Home. Logged on as Administrator.

In XP Home, the only choices are Admin or Limited.  You will need to choose Admin.
