Media Jukebox and Tivo
« on: February 17, 2004, 09:53:23 am »

I just started using Media Jukebox because I was having problems getting my Tivo to reliably play my WMA files, of which I have a lot. I have not had problems with my MP3s. Now that I have MJ intalled I cannot get it to recognize my WMAs (it says that my files do not contain any publishable music content). I am looking to fix this but need guidance in simple terms as I am a bit of a novice.

For TiVo, please use Media Center.

Thanks for the tip. I installed everything and even had it running but now I have issues. The Server says The Tivo BEacon is ready for connections but when I go to my Tivo it is not see the Media Center. It worked just 15 to 20 minutea ago but not know. Any thoughts. The Tivo Publisher also seems to be acting weird. It will not let me open any of the menus. Is there a connection between the 2?

There is no connection between the TiVo software and ours.

Did you try the instructions here?

Also, try shutting down all your devices, back to your DHCP server (or cable modem or DSL router).

Then turn them all back on, one at a time, starting on the side of the Internet.  Give each one a minute to get up and running before you go to the next.

I tried it and it did nothing. Now the Tivo is acting like I do not have Media Center at all and is shpwing things as they were previous to today. The Tivo is not seeing the Media Server. Not sure what to do here.

Is the TiVo Beacon running? (In task manager, look for a process named Beacon.exe or similar). If it is not, was it shut down properly? (I.e. you didn't kill it with Task Manager).

In control panel, go into services, and start the beacon, then stop it. Then restart Media Server and try again.
