Anyone used EncSpot before?
« on: February 21, 2004, 09:06:04 pm »

I just bought the pro version to evaluate my mp3 collection, and it seems pretty cool (that's why I bought it), but it does not update the tag info like I think it should.  I have tried it about 3 or 4 different ways, but no luck.  In addition to that, it seems to run slower and slower every time I run it.  I cannot imagine why this would be, but it does appear to be the case.

I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it, and if they have had better luck than I have.

Thanks

EncSpot is a neat program.  I have only tried the freebie version though.  It is pretty amazing how much info is buried in a mp3.  I also used it to evalute the quality of my mp3's.  I found a lot of garbage from the old Napster days, so I dumped all of that junk and bought a lot of replacement CDs to improve my mp3 collection.

I have found it better to analyze smaller groups of mp3's rather than try to run it against the whole database.  You might try that to see if you see any improvement.
