Lets say MC was gonna include a Music Service/Store with the final release of v10.  Just for arguments sake.

Do you suppose MC would sell music in aac format?  Knowing how much better this format is when compared to mp3 at the same bitrate.  MC is all about having the best you can get, right.  So they would pretty much have to include aac in thier store right?

What about ogg?

I agree about the used CD thing, but, how many CDs have only 1 or 2 good songs?  A TON of them.  I would rather just buy the 1 or 2 tracks I like, over the internet, from the comfort of my office/home, not fight traffic, not look all around for someone who carries it, etc.

As some one once said, "just point and click"

And yes, I would also prefer ape, but I highly doubt they will want to pay for the storage/bandwidth to serve up ape files.

Yes it more was a grab bag and i bought 100+ cd's each time but some of it was good music

I guess I am a little different then, The bands I like I buy all there cd's and for the most part I like all the songs,

The only group that I may contemplate just wanting 1 or 2 tracks would be the White Stripes..

If I like a band, I'll get the CD, but do I really need all of Tom Jones' greatest hits? Probably not, so song downloading is right for me. However, for me the issue is rights. I don't want to buy an inferior product (any lossy compressed file) and then have restricted access to that. When you add those two things up, hey, 99 cents is pretty expensive. As mentioned above, a used CD is just as easy to rip, costs less and I can do whatever I want with it (at least I like to think I can!).

Of course at 99 cents per song, Tales from Topographic Oceans is quite a steal!
