Remote access to Media Center
« on: March 20, 2004, 11:59:59 am »

Hi

My stereo is hooked up to my home PC running Media Center9. IT works AWESOME! I also have a wireless network in the house. I would like to access Media Center on the main PC (that is hooked to the stereo) using my wireless laptop...so i could be anywhere in the house (or outside) and select what songs to listen to through my stereo.

how can i do this? thanks!!!

Something like 'Dameware' would certainly work, but there should be a more elegant solution.

Oh, and give folks some time... its not like we sit around in the middle of the night waiting to answer someones questions.  .... ok, maybe some of us do ;)

I think you should try the remote server included in Media Center.

Just activate it (options ---> startup) and you can access Media Center through your browser.

Hope this helps  ;)

Simple. What you need is NetRemote (www.netremote.org)
