2 Second Songs???? MC10 and iTunes help.
« on: September 25, 2004, 02:44:18 pm »

I downloaded a few songs from iTunes today, but my MC10 shows these songs to all be only 1 or 2 seconds in duration.  Once placed on the iPod, the songs only play for that long.  All previous songs (mp3's) seem fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Can you open and play these files in Quicktime? If so, can you post a link to one and I will test it out?

Well I don't know why I got this problem, but I deleted the songs from the HDD and from the library, re-copied them to the HDD and placed them back in the library.  Now all is well.

They were downloaded using iTunes on another PC and moved over a network to the PC in question.  That particular PC did not (I don't think) have iTunes installed at the time of the move (but did at the subsequent file move).  Could this be te cause?

I don't think this would cause the problem. A little hard to guess. It is possible iTunes could write the incorrect duration into the file tag and that would definitely cause what we are seeing.
