Disappearing Track Info
« on: October 18, 2004, 03:05:36 pm »

Recently stumbled across MC (through a WMP newsgroup of all places) and immediately purchased it. I can't believe I haven't come across this brilliant product sooner!

Problem: I notice when playing a track in MC that info for the corresponding tracks' file disappears when viewing the file in windows explorer.

When I stop playing the track the info then reappears.

Problem is that the file for the track being played is sometimes moved to the 'Unknown Artist' folder when it is in the 'missing info' state.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

MC and Windows Explorer don't move files without user commands. What else you have running? MC locks the file during the playback, so other programs are not able to read the internal tags.

I don't have any other programs running at the minute.

I've just been trying to replicate the problem; without success. The tag info is still missing when the track is being played (is this part of the file locking mechanism?), but the files aren't being moved.

I still have various tracks in the 'Unkown Artist' folder which I keep copying back to their correct folder, and I just don't know why they keep being copied there.
