I know this was discussed previously (back when v10 was still in Beta), but it has been a while so I thought I would bring it up again.  I would REALLY like to see this feature added to Theater View ...

Basically I would just like to be able to have Theater View show tags other than (and in addition to) Name when viewing a list of Files.  Mostly, I would like to be able to have each Music file show Name - Artist instead of just Name.  That way on lists of files that are mixed, you would still be able to tell who the artist is!

Is this feature something that is planned for addition in MC 11?

I'm sure this isn't how it would be implemented anyway, but I should stress that this is not the only "scheme" I would want to use.  I can definately see wanting to display the "People" (or Place or Keyword etc) for Images, and a wide variety of different systems.  It would be perfect to be able to define it on a Scheme-by-Scheme basis (just have a "Theater View File List" section of the Edit View Scheme's dialog).

Any word on this request?  It is really the main feature that I would like to see added before I can feel comfortable using MC as the "centerpiece" of my HTPC.

The problem is that when listening to music (especially in a "party" situation) I often like to be able to view the list of all of the files in a view scheme and then run it in shuffle mode (for example inside a Genre view).  Currently, this is fairly useless in Theater View because when I'm viewing a list of 1356 "Psychedelic Rock" genred songs, I can't tell which artist is which!  I can certainly use it in shuffle mode, but if MC plays a song I don't particularly like and I want to change it, I can't easily pick through the files to find a better choice (without switching back to Standard View which defeats the purpose of Theater View).

As I'm not really that special (though hopefully some would argue), I suspect this annoys other Theater View users as well.  I remember one other thread where this was discussed (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=22498.msg156855#msg156855).  There was a band-aid workaround was discussed, but this was very unsatisfying (and also prevents me from using the "Show Files" choice in Theater View to see a not-bottom-tier list of files).

Again, any word?  Any support on this issue from others?
