Hello.

I love the powerful Media Library and the powerful Search bar in Media Jukebox.  But how do I get the two to work together? If I have a particular node in the Media Library tree selected, I want to do a search, restricting the results to only what is in that node, but as soon as I press CTRL-F, it jumps to the root "Media Library" node which includes the whole database! NOTE: Quick Search (CTRL-Q) is not sufficient.  Any help?

Hi,

You can't really restrict the search for a single node in your library tree.
What you can do is simply to add a keyword for that node in your search query.
For example if your looking for a song with say 'love' in the the tree node genre/artist
subtree ''jazz'' you will simply enter 'genre=jazz name=love'.

Use the (...) button next to the search text box to find a combination of keywords and rules
that will match the view scheme in your Media Library tree.

Thanks for your help with this.  I think it's is rather inconvenient that Search does cannot simply restrict to the current subtree.  This would make a good feature for MJ9 (Hint).

You should probably suggest this in the v9 forum.

As a possible easy way to suggest it there could be a button that was on the right click for nodes that:

'Enter this node as a search string'
or something like that that automatically built the search string for that node for you.
