AAC encoding

I'm trying to determine the best encoding format for my audio library.  Currently using MP3 VBR and play with my iPOD.

I heard the better quality formats are
Oggvis
mpedplus
AAC

Does MC come with a standard AAC encoder which is a download plug-in

What about standardising with AAC format
