Library server detect problem (MC 11.0.1680
« on: January 10, 2005, 10:42:04 pm »

Hi all,

I recently loaded 11.0.168. I have 2 laptops and a server. One laptop and the server are running Windows 2000 pro. One laptop running XP pro. I cannot connect to either of the two Windows 2K systems when they are running Library server. But I was able to connect to the laptop running XP and Library server.

Is LS supported on Windows 2k? Is there some documentation on what exactly has to be set for library server to run correctly?

My results are very inconsistent. When I use XP as the client and one laptop with Win2k running LS, I do see in the server log that the library command was sent to the Win2k LS server. But nothing else.

Thanks!

Hi Vin,

What's your network configuration?

Are you using "Search for servers" or entering the IP address?

Hi John,

I have done both.

All systems were tried on 100mbit Ethernet, through a switch. I have also tried through wireless. The results were the same on both networking schemes.

Tonight I will sniff the wire and see what I may find.

Do you have a quick write up of the settings?
