Sarah McLachlan's Afterglow Live: How do you rip this???

Sarah McLachlan's new live CD (Afterglow Live) has a copy protection on it such that if you attempt to rip it, it works -- sorta -- but then you find that all your WAVs have nicely placed skips in them. Purposefully.

Any way to rip this CD? Isn't what Sarah's label doing a violation of The Fair Use Act (or some such), which states that you can copy a work for your own personal purposes (for purposes of back up)?

I'm sure there has to be a way around this protection...right?

Not sure if I should mention this, but some CDs have autorun programs enabled on them that sliently install a new device driver that intercepts the cd autio when ripping software is used. 

You may want to look in your device manager for any drivers that don't belong there. The Velvet Revolver cd does this as well, and so it's just one more reason to disable the autorun feature in Windows.

Does the CD have a warning on it?

There are 2 ways around it.. Hold down the shift key when you insert the CD, that will buypas the autorun.
If that doesn't work, Some cd drives will bypass the Copy Protection.

Do a search on google, you will probably find ways around it.

Pressing shift works if the copy protection system is MediaMax CD3, but I don't think it helps if the malicious software is already installed.

It's legal to uninstall software and users are also allowed to press keys if they like to...  8)
