THE Filter
« on: February 11, 2005, 05:41:39 pm »

While cleaning my tag data I have found the need for I filter I have written for MSAccess. It simple shows (not changes) a text value so that if the text starts with "The " if displays it ast the end of the rest of the string.

For example "The Beatles" would display as "Beattles, The"

This allows you to see all the names (be that the name of an artist, album, etc) next to each other in a list.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could do this in Media Center? I'm happy to pass on the VBA I have written.

Thanks and close, but I don't think it is quite there. I was not game to run the plugin on a list because it looks like it changes the artist name.

The problem is that I don't know the name of the Artist or Album. I want to look down my list of Artists with the artist name only filtered to show "The" at the end the name when it is there. Not make the change at that time.

Like I understand ur question...it' build in...

goto...menu:
Tools
Options
Tree&View
Sorting
(Ignore articles..!)

That's it...but I for myself would like to see this function
expanded to words I define by myself...because I'm from
germany and there are also articles like "Der, Die, Das".
I Think this would be a nice feature for foreign speeking people using mc11.
