How do I start MC in a Smartlist? Help Please!
« on: March 01, 2005, 10:06:11 am »

I have a smartlist that I would like MC to automatically begin playing anytime I start MC.  I have chosen (under "tools > options") to have MC open "last location".  So the smartlist is displayed when I start MC, but it is not playing music from that smartlist, but rather plays songs from the entire music library.  How can I get MC to only play from that smartlist upon executing the application?

TIA.

I don't remember the exact language, but...

You can have MC start playing whatever is in the playing now dialog when it starts, and you cal choose whether or not to have it clear the playing now dialog when you exit.

Therefore, if you load that laylist before you quit, MC will start playing it when you start it up.

Not quite what you want, but a workaround, if you like...

Create another icon and use this info to set up your command line appropriately.  Replace Top Hits with the playlist you want MC to play.

mjextman.exe /Play TREEPATH=Playlists\Top Hits

Works fine with MC11.0.201

isnt there an Option in the startup panel to do this?

Select the Playlist you want to start, the go to options/Startup and look for a check box that says something like "start in this playlist".

Worked like a charm.  Thanks.  Seems like they should make it easier than this - should be configurable in the "Options" menu.
