2 zones = 2 soundcards?

hi,

iŽd like to use 2 zones (kitchen & living room) with mc10/11. in order to play different music in the 2 zones (at the same time) -> do i need 2 soundcards.

i guess it will be this way, but hopefully i am wrong...

Yes, two sound cards would work.  But also consider that you can use USB soundcards.  I've got four of them (two audigy, one extigy and a cheap FM transmitter).  Each show up as a sound card and MC11 is able to select them as zones.

Alternatively you can get some soundcards that have the ability to use their channels as zones.  These tend to be a bit more expensive.

Does anybody know if the M-Audio Revolution7.1 allows the use of the different channels as zones within MC and also the ability to use the digital output at the same time?

Also is there a good quality audio card out there with more than one digital output, I'd really like to use the D/As in my Meridian system rather than the sound card D/A.
