turn OFF visulations
« on: April 04, 2005, 04:04:05 pm »

I certainly may be blind.. BUT,
could someone please tell me how to

--   TURN OFF--

all those dancing pattern visulations?

I know they are cute and all that, but to me they are just in the way and taking up processor time.

Thank you all,
Anne

If you right click anywhere in the visi diplay window you get a number of options to choose from. Static images would minimise cpu use.

I gather its also poss to uninstall the visi plug in, but havent done it. And never would :)

Thanks for the suggestion, but ,
I just dont want ANY image, static or otherwise.....
     except cover art,  of course.

I have tried to remove the DIR itself and all I get then is an error message that it cant find the visulation...

Maybe someone out there has found a way to get rid of visulations itself.

Again.. thanks for the suggestion

With MC 11, right-click "Cover Art" will show only a static image of the cover art.  There is no redrawing in this mode, so there is no CPU load.

It may be called "None" with MC 10.

I tried removing the Directories..  but that caused error messages every time I clicked on "playing now" or any other process that would normally start and display a "visulations".

If I have to get rid of cover art to get rid of visulations, then I will do that also...

But up to this point I have not found a way to stop them without causing bad side effects.. ie;' error messages.

On earlier versions I thought there was a point where you could choose to have visulations or not.

When you are looking at Playing Now, use the little left and right arrows in the lower left corner to cycle through all possibilities.  Cover Art should work.

I've never had a problem with it, maybe because I cleanly remove all of it.

Once you set it to cover art, it should restart on cover art every time.

Or drag the bottom edge of the visis window up to the top. Visis stop running when theyre not being watched.

Figure that one out :)

All I know is that after they dont get display space for a bit they stop processing. Drag the window bar down again and theyll begin again. It saves CPU loading when no-ones watching.

Another way is to select 'start' instead of 'playing now' on the left.
