error importing certain files
« on: April 17, 2005, 03:58:41 am »

Hey all,

I noticed that when importing files to the library, certain files do not get imported.
They get recognized correctly as new files, but then fail to import with an error along the lines of:

Code: [Select]
10:36:42: Import: ImportNewFiles: Adding: M:\music\koen\lossless rips\aac\Echo & The Bunnymen\Ocean Rain (Remastered & Expanded)\16. My Kingdom (Previously Unissued Live Version from 'A Crystal Day' May 12, 1984).m4a
10:36:42: Import: ImportNewFiles:     Failed to analyze / add

Other songs from the same albums get imported fine.
The full error log is:
http://www.leminator.org/jr.txt

this happens with about 300 songs out of a library of 11000 files...So admittedly it's not frequent but then again, it _should_ work...

This happened to me with build 235.  Upgraded to 241 and importing works fine now.  I was getting it on .vob files.

If it isn't a build-specific problem, it could be that those files are corrupt somehow (with 300 I'd be wondering about drive failure or filesystem corruption).  Will the files that won't analyze play using WiMP?

they play fine using foobar. All files are encoded with nero aac. What's really weird is that it's always part of an album that does not get imported, on some 1 or 2 tracks, on others most of the tracks. So it's not a matter of encoding parameters...
