Is anyone else getting a problem whereby, whenever you do anything that involves an entry in the search-box, a smartlist box, or editing an item in the list, you have to click it twice?

I've noticed that when editing smartlists, I get all sorts of problems such as the cursor disappearing, having to click twice to exit editing, and the drop-down menu appearing the first time I click outside the edit-box after editing.  It also happens when using a wizard to edit a search in a dialogue-box - I have to click twice on the OK button; the first click just highlights the search, only the second click actually connects.

I've had these problems with many builds, and they've never gone away...

We can't reproduce this.  Any 3rd party mouse or keyboard utilities running?

Does it always happen, or only in certain circumstances?

Been trying to test this. It only manifests under certain conditions that we (or certainly here anyway) have no control over..

I have a logitech keyboard running setpoint, and a logitech mouse running under intellipoint. I saw the same behaviour when using a MS media keyboard and mouse.

The easiest to reproduce is searching from the search bar with media library selected in the tree.

1. open media center and select media library.
2. type some filters into the search bar.

As each filter is added the file list below updates. when finished, click on one of the files in the list. The file becomes selected, and the search bar updates to "friendly" view.

3. click on one of the search filters, choose edit by typing and make a change.

Now, one of two things happens here...

3a. the file list updates with the changes and the search bar returns to "friendly" view, all selected.

if this happens, then when a file below is selected, all is fine and as it should be.

3b. the file list updates with the changes and the search bar remains in "edit by typing" mode.

if this happens, then when a file is selected, instead of selecting the file, MC activates the search wizard drop-down menu and a second click is required to select the file.

Other quirks that happen when in edit by typing mode include...

i. when making changes, the entire search string becomes selected as the list updates. As soon as this happens, the next keypress will wipe out the entire string.
ii. everything will disappear except the filter that's in edit mode. search string returns when edit is finished.
iii. particularly while editing a smartlist string, the first click on the file list will bounce the cursor to a seemingly random place in the string, the second selects the file.

Wow, thanks for the video.

I think the problem shows up when you hold-move-release the menu instead of click-move-click the menu.

We'll fix that problem this build and go from there.  Thanks!
