I have a Linksys media adapter which will use m3u playlists but when I export from Media Center the format is entirely different than the format that Windows Media Player produces.
The MC exported file just looks like a (fullpath) filename listing:

while the WMP exported file has the following format:

The WMP produced list works, The MC produced file doesn't. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

I want to boost up this post again as I am having the same issues with the new Noxon 2 streaming client. Right now I use TwonkyVision as streaming server because the MC server plugin is way to slow. When I export my playlists to m3u format the are not recognized because they do not comply with the standard m3u formating as winamp or MS Mediaplayer do.

So is there a way to change the export function so it becomes compatible with the standard formating (see post above).

On the other hand - if the streaming server (UPNP) is improved in future releases so it becomes usable and fast, this would make my need for proper m3u files obsolete...

Anybody, especially the guys from JR?

Never even got a nibble on this one. Disappointing.
Did find a nice playlist generator that works for me. Freeware. "Playlist Creator". You can find it at the link below. Very simple.

M3U's can use full or relative paths.

It seems like a Linksys bug not to support both.

The full or relative path is not the problem. Windows Media player and other M3U list generators use the full format like shown in first message not just filenames (full or relative).

Did you try the "Skip Child Count" option? This makes things a lot faster, though it will not work if the box uses the Child Count (I have found no boxes that do use it, so you are probably safe).
