I have created an extened tag, "bios" so artist bios can display in the excellent MultiInfo plugin (created by Cascius & DJ_Hazelwood).

My main collection is stored on my desktop and mirrored to another networked PC, but I also have a copy of MC on my laptop, which is what I use to rip, do tag clean-up, etc. before moving the mp3 files over to the desktop's HD.

Consequently, in the Options menu, I've created a bios field on both the desktop and laptop copies of MC.  The parameters are, as far as I can tell, identical, and the "include tag in file" box is checked on both. 

I use TagInfo to enter the artist information for a particular album on the laptop.  However, it seems that when I copy the albums to the desktop, and import the new files into the desktop MC library, one some albums the bios tags are empty, but on some not.  I should add that I also put the album review into the "comments" field, and that that field travels with the copied file no problem.  I'm stumped by the inconsistent behavior of the bios field.  Is it perhaps that there's a data limitation on what a field can hold (some of the bios can be quite long)?

make sure save to tags is checked in the field config

so what is the file type?

Mp3's should save the bios tags where others may not

Thanks, King, I've double checked to make sure "save to tags" is checked, so that's not it.

The files are mp3s. 

One thing I handn't thought of doing is running "update files from library" (or whatever the command is) before I copy the files over to the desktop, and see if that makes a difference.
