99 minute burns - asking again

Nero can burn 99 minute blanks, MJ should be able to also.

So I'm asking again, can't MJ be "fixed" to allow a burn that far?  At about 94 minutes, it locks everything up and I have to reboot.

gkerber,
Here is a list of drives that will burn over. Note that some drives will not burn all of the 99 min. Maybe it's MJ maybe it's not. If it is, I'm sure we all want this capability.

Thanks for the info.  I've got a drive that will burn 99 minute blanks, works great with Nero, every time.

The limitation is MJ, not my burner.  Sure I can't convert my ape files to wav and then burn with Nero.  But I'd really like MJ to be a one-stop program.

That's what I figured. 94 minutes isn't shabby but it's not 99. How much data will it hold?

Using my high school math...

74 minutes          99 minutes
-------------          ------------------
650 mb                     x

makes x = to 870 mb

Funny, I remember the "early" days of cdr recording.  The blanks were $8 and my 2x burner was $400.  It was really cool.

Then 80 minute blanks came out and I thought I was in heaven.  And then they got too short....

Then 90 minute blanks came out and I thought I was in heaven, and then they got too short too.

Now we have 99 minute blanks, and I am in heaven (except that MJ won't burn them....)

With the upcoming release of a new generic burning engine, we'll have much more control over things like 99 minute burning. Please hang in there, I'm going to order some disks and do some testing.
Which drive model do you have gkerber?

I have a BusLink 32x.  Prior to that I've had a TDK 32x and a TDK 24x, all of which do 99 minute burns.

The news Buslink is  Lite-On unit, and so were the TDK's.
