Playing Now behavior
« on: January 05, 2006, 11:13:09 am »

If you have Save List Header Clicks enabled and your view schemes are setup to sort album tracks in order, should Playing Now also remember the list header clicks?

I see they get added to Playing Now with Sequence #'s and evertime I sort the list by tracks, and then play a new file (in Playing Now) the PN list resorts itself according to the Sequence #'s. This is distracting and I can't figure out why MC behaves this way. I am using .92.

Playing Now is always sorted by playback order, which seems logical.

Yes that seems logical Matt, but I don't understand why an album is added "out of order". Come to think of it, this is probably due to shuffle being enabled right? IIRC, MC doesn't add tracks then shuffle them in PN, it actually adds them in a shuffled order...maybe?

thanks,

Making Shuffle a "hidden" process?
« Reply #3 on: January 06, 2006, 08:25:38 pm »

I'll answer my own question here: it appears that shuffle is the cause, and your list headers have to be selected correctly to allow tracks to follow albums = correct sorting/listing when added to playing now.

I wonder, however, if it would be better, or even more logical to have the shuffle behavior "hidden" in that that files are added to Playing Now in a certain order and shuffle occurs behind the scenes; it's just plain confusing to have the list shifting when shuffle is engaged especially if your "working" with the tracks.
