BTW she has  a lot of slides and I would like to make a slideshow with audio on CD's. Is this possible?

MC can burn a data disk with both audio and images, but it won't play in a DVD player (if that's what you're asking).

Not with MC, I'd imagine you need some
sort of video authoring software, which allows
you to create Video CD's or DVD's for playing
in a DVD player..
You might be able to do with Microsoft Window Movie Maker which used to ship with
windows, although I notice my version of XP doesn't appear to have it

have a look at ProShow Gold.
The DVD slideshow disc I put together for a christmas gift was very well received (+ if I thought it was crap, I would have chosen a different gift;))

I used MC to gather the files I wanted to use, using its excellent drag 'n' drop support to get the files I wanted into each project.
Imagine being able to do DVD authoring like that within MC....
how cool would that be!!!

Friend here at my work told me I can use Nero, which I have.  Hope he is right.  If not I will try ProShow.
Would be nice to do this with MC of course.

There are plenty of programs (freeware and shareware), some less sophisticated others very sophisticated. I tried a large number of them. The one mentioned above is a good one!

But they have all one great limitation which makes them quite unusable for me. They cannot import MC11 tags (especially for images). With many of them you can enter tags, but on a per picture/track basis. Who wants to re-enter thousands of tags by hand?

That's why I asked J River many times to add this functionality to MC, but they seem to be deaf on this topic! Maybe in MC12! Or they could buy one of those companies that make such programs and integrate it in MC

It's a pity to have 20'000 neatly tagged images on disk and not being able to create nice CD's/DVD's for your friends. They always give nice presents and people just have to put them on their DVD player and enjoy your creation.

Also, framing of images would be a nice add-on. Some art galleries have very nice framing programs that allow you to choose which frame you want with a given picture. Framed images look much better, even on a screen.

I was referring to Photodex ProShow Gold.

One I have looked at recently was SKS CD-Menu Editor 4.7

Some others I tried in the past:
Photo Slide Show Maker
PictureToExe
Picture Presentation Maker
Gallery Maker
Magix Photo on CD & DVD (www.magix.com)

You usually find them in categories such as Images>Slide Shows of large download sites, sometimes also in categories CD/DVD Tools. There are plenty of them!
