can't play some musepack albums

i ripped a whole lot of cds to musepack way way back and used several different media players (foobar.. winamp.. vuplayer) but now that i'm using media jukebox i can't play some of them. they will play but are silent. what's wrong ?

Did you install the Musepack input plugin for MJ8?

You need the "MPEGplus Plugin - 2.0.7" plugin from this DL page:
http://www.mediajukebox.com/cgi-bin/downloads/plugins.pl?type=4&start=0&end=10&page=1

(MPEG+ is an older name for Musepack)

The MPEGplus plugin v. 2.0.7 should be able to decode any properly encoded and tagged Musepack files (ID3v2 tags are not allowed). The mpc file format itself has not changed.

MC11.1 has the newest and best Musepack decoder. Bob from JRiver did a lot of work for it. (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=30834.0). I think he deserves his paycheck. Upgrade from a registered MJ8 is $26.   ;)

Though, if the files are corrupted somehow MC11.1 does not help.

Actually, it seems that the old MJ8 plugin version may not properly support APE v2 tagged files.

MC9.1 had a newer plugin. I have no idea if this works, but you may want to try the in_mpc.dll file from the MC9.1 package. It is still available here: ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/old/MediaCenter91319.exe
