SPDIF playback stops on windows explorer actions
« on: February 24, 2006, 11:34:50 pm »

Hello,
Here's the problem:
I just started playing with DTS audio files.
Chaintech AV710 sound card with latest VIA drivers through SPDIF output using ASIO4ALL.
Everything works well (almost) except for when I browse for another file - the playback just stops. MC11.1.128 still shows that the file is playing (position indicator moving, counter counting, spectrum analyzer analyzing) but there's no sound. I have to shut down MC and start it again to make it sound again.
One more time - this happens when I browse (in Windows File Explorer) for another file - when I select a file in the same directory, it's fine, but when I click on another directory, the playback stops.
Any idea? Anyone?
Thanks!

Maybe system sounds from folder changes are causing issues.  Try disabling all system sounds.

Also, browse for music inside of MC instead of from an external explorer.

Me badd.. Actually, I _did_ have some of the system sounds still enabled. Disabled all - problem solved!
Thanks a lot, Matt! Appreciate your help!

You really should try this. combined with the navigation toolbar button, it really is a neat way to work with your files.
