MC needs an installed DVD decoder. Do you have any dedicated DVD player software installed, like WinDVD or PowerDVD?

The jump to full screen behavior is configurable: Tools > Options > General > Behavior > Jump on play, but I doubt it has anything to do with the freezing unless it uses a display resolution that does not work properly on your PC. You can change the full screen resolution in Player > Display Options > Display Settings > Full Screen.

(These are MC11.1 options. If you have MC11.0 the options may be a bit different. In any case you should try the latest MC11.1 build if not already installed. Make a library backup first.)

yah your first problem is having windows me.

Windows ME, each to there own, I have had it for 5 years and dont have a problem with it. I have XP BLOATWARE at work, have had 95 & 98 and still prefer my ME. Have you ever used it?? You are speeking from experience i take it? I fixed my dvd problem i had to disable hardware acceleration. So i guess ME wasnt the problem. But thanks to all who offered help :)

XP BLOATWARE
windows XP it is a more stable OS, the thing is you can actually turn off the bloat (ie the graphics enhancements). turning that off makes windows xp run faster. that option is under the control panel.

windows ME is only slightly better than windows 98se and some of the newer hardware and larger drives will not work with windows me and below. I think Microsoft dropped support for older versions of windows.

there is also allot more security issues with windows 98\me
