iTunes Video in MC11
« on: June 16, 2006, 10:35:36 pm »

Hi,

Currently using MC11 11.1.184

On my machine although mV4 shows as a supported file type, if I try to play one I get nothing. If I try adding the files they are rejected.

I can play Purchased iTunes audio files mp4.

Any ideas on what I'm missing ?

Thanks,
Stephen

Do they play in QuickTime?

Yes,

Both the Audio Files and The video files play in Quicktime and in iTunes.

The iTunes Purchased audio files play and import into MC11  The Video files do not.

m4v files (purchased or otherwise) play fine on my machine. Is "mV4" a typo? If not, try renaming it to m4v.

Sorry, Typo.

m4v  will not play in MC11

m4p  plays fine.

And you have Quicktime/iTunes installed on the same machine on which you try to play the file in MC?

How was it rejected? Any error message?

Previously It looked like they just didn't play.

I tried playing a file using the open media file option.

and received a warning message saying there is nothing to play.

Just to confirm. I can play this same file on this machine with Quicktime and with iTunes.

The file is a video purchased from iTunes

Sorry, I don't know why I said protected m4v files play in MC  ?

I confirm that they do not. Though Quicktime player plays them, we can not get Quicktime engine to play them inside MC.
