Keyboard use
« on: August 12, 2006, 01:45:58 am »

A couple of niggles that I've had with MC since I started using it:

Scroll through thumbnails with right arrow only and you hit a deadend when you hit the rightmost end of the screen. I wish it would scroll through to the next row.

Attempt tp Ctrl shift click multiple selections and the second selection you click clears the first. In windows it adds to the selection.

Hope these things get some attention at some point.

I agree with this one.

At first I didnt get what you are saying, but you are right.

Click and then Shift Click to get a first range.  Then Ctrl Click   and Ctrl Shift Click to try and add a second seperate range and it clears the first.  That is an important action for tagging.  Good Catch!

How about just generally getting around the UI without a mouse?

I find some cul-de-sacs here and there:

ctrl+F sends focus to the search bar, but I cannot get out of the search bar without the mouse. the [Tab] key just places little squares in the search field.

The tag window is another area I can't get out of without the mouse, I'm also pretty sure I can't get into it without the mouse either.

Am I correct in thinking that it's not possible to sit down and flit around all areas of the library/GUI using just the keyboard?

I also miss being able to get out of the search box with TAB just like it was possible in MC 9 (or was it MC 10?)
